As much as he doesn't want to offer personal information, D realizes this conversation won't go anywhere good if he's not forthcoming to Eustace. And so far, Eustace hasn't given him any cause for distrust. (Not counting what this place can force you to do.)]
The only option is consuming real blood, something I'm not thrilled with doing. Feeding from others makes me no different from the vampires I hunted. However, I may consider an exception for those who may have more resilience to the bite.
Bites from the Nobility often kill, but if the vampire is powerful, there are only two outcomes: a thrall, or a vampire.
