The words are so unexpected that Eustace is caught off-guard, eyes widening even as he rights himself fully to his usual stick-straight upright position. Now that he's (somewhat) clearheaded again and no longer in danger of succumbing to D's sexy vampire aura, he's actually starting to feel a little bad about steamrolling his way through. It's clear that there's a lot of shit going on behind that handsome face, a lot more than he would have expected. What's that saying again, don't judge a book by its cover?
