D's mind is a cacophony of things.

The landscape is shadow and darkness, and it is chilly and reserved where D sits in it; he feels like a simple young man. Quiet, soft, human. But behind the stoicism is a warm, sensual, and elegant sliver of something primordial and powerful. Embracing it is hypnotic, arousing, yet also a little horrifying.

Amidst all of this is something else, too: a craggled and old presence which can be heard on occasion cackling or chattering separately, the crusty voice belonging neither to D or the peculiar entity in the space.

[ Hello? The het feelings?? He was just going to leave the conversation at that and let D exist in peace for the rest of the day but now he's not sure if he should say something.

[He delivers this so indifferently, but his feelings are soft about it. He is not head over heels in love, but he finds Gray pleasing to be with when they happen to be together.

[ Wish Eustace would shake D until he accepts that he deserves to be loved by others. But alas, he's too even-tempered and aloof to ever consider anything like that, which is why he accepts D's answer for what it is instead of grilling further. (Though he does find those soft feelings very kawaii.) ]

I'm sure she'd be happy to hear that. [ In fact: ] You should tell her yourself sometime.

[ Tell her about the het feelings...even though she probably already knows via Aspect. Still, it's nice to say things aloud sometimes. ]

[Don't just accept his dumbass answer. It's not like D wouldn't accept Eustace's answer either for something similar... Maybe he should try to talk to Eustace again about Dokja (no).

[ Gray can have g(r)ay feelings and D can have het feelings, there's nothing wrong with the two existing simultaneously. Fortunately (or unfortunately??), Eustace does not know about the gay feelings so he can only work with what he has, which are the het feelings. Sorry, D. ]

Maybe not, but I'm sure she would appreciate it all the same.

[ You don't have to have terrible self-esteem to enjoy a compliment from a friend. But D lucks out here because Eustace doesn't actually enjoy involving himself too much in the personal affairs of others. This is about as far as he's willing to go. ]
