D's mind is a cacophony of things.

The landscape is shadow and darkness, and it is chilly and reserved where D sits in it; he feels like a simple young man. Quiet, soft, human. But behind the stoicism is a warm, sensual, and elegant sliver of something primordial and powerful. Embracing it is hypnotic, arousing, yet also a little horrifying.

Amidst all of this is something else, too: a craggled and old presence which can be heard on occasion cackling or chattering separately, the crusty voice belonging neither to D or the peculiar entity in the space.

I don't know. It could all be true. But I would like to find out what is and what isn't as we're forced to go along. I would rather return to my own world, if possible.

To an extent. I didn't have any magical talents I needed to get back though, so I stayed unharmonized for several months.

I don't practice magic. [Though some of the genetic abilities of vampires might seem like magic to people.] The things I want back I might not receive.

But it seemed better to be tethered to one in the long run, as long as the discord doesn't grow unmanageable.

[ There's the sudden presence of stormclouds at the edge of their Communion, something dark and foreboding that makes itself known for a brief moment before Eustace quashes it back down. So sorry, sometimes you watch the guy you like almost die of high Discord and it leaves you with trauma. ]

You should make sure to take care of that sooner rather than later, if it does start rising.

I've noticed.

[He was going to be foolish too because he hated the way it needed to be relieved, but he has seen instances of discord growing badly. Link. Dark. As annoying as it is, not a good idea. He doesn't want to be a horny, hairy feral Meridian creature. He has enough of that already.]
